This year, Veterans’ Day (November 11th) falls on a Saturday. To commemorate the day, VCAS will be attending the ROC for Veterans Music Festival hosted by Summit for Soldiers. Summit for Soldiers is an organization dedicated to changing the stigma of mental health and suicide in the veteran population and providing support and encouragement to the community. One way they do this is by promoting outdoor activities, such as wall climbing. They call their unique approach “Adven-therapy” and have even started a Veterans’ Mountaineering Club.

This will be the third time Summit for Soldiers has held the ROC for Veterans Music Festival. ROC stands for “Resources Organizations and Community”, but the event will feature several rock bands as entertainment. The event will be located at The Alrosa Villa (5055 Sinclair Rd., Columbus, OH 43229). Along with awesome music, there will be raffles, a cash bar, and food from Lynette’s BBQ. General tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Veterans enter the event free and also get a free meal from Lynette’s BBQ. Proof of service is required.

VCAS will be present as well as several other resources and organizations dedicated to the veteran community. We hope to see you all there!
